Post # 9 - Home Remedies

Hello RW 2! This is your last blog post for the semester!!!! Congratulations on all of your hard work and dedication these past 3 months. We have just started talking about Medicine and Medical Treatment. I would like for you to think about an experience you had with a home remedy. Describe where and when you had this experience, what your health problem was, and what remedy you (or someone close to you) chose to help cure the problem. Describe what happened and how it worked. Use vocabulary from the unit. Try to write 2 paragraphs :) When you write 2 paragraphs, you just continue to use the perfect paragraph recipe :) Good luck

Find a serious game to play online. There are many that you can play for free. Play it and write a review of the game. Do you think the game is well designed? What does it teach? Future Plans

Hello RW 2!! I am stuck in Golden, BC. The highways are closed because of avalanche warnings. The warm temperatures have created a shift in the snow conditions in the mountains. It can be very dangerous, so I can't come back to Calgary yet. I will hopefully see you all on Tuesday :) I miss you all, and Genki and Wasabi, too! Today I would like for you to work on your blog postings. Make sure that you comment on at LEAST 2 other blogs :) (for each post!) Your new post is about your future plans. There are only a few weeks left in the semester, and I am interested in hearing about what you plan to do after the semester finishes. Try to write at least 2 (perfect) paragraphs :) Thanks! Think about a city that you know well (your hometown, or maybe Calgary?).  Choose one type of public transportation from this city (subway, bus, train, taxi).  Give some information about the type of transportation, then give a list of important rules of etiquette (written and unwritten) for that type of transportation.

Sometimes people from one culture think that people from another culture are rude.  In reality, they are just following different rules of etiquette.

Write 2 paragraphs comparing etiquette in two cultures you know are very different.

What rules might help people in those two cultures get along?

Post # 4 - Long Weekend

Hello Everyone,

We just had a 4 day long weekend!  We had the Friday and Monday off to celebrate Family Day weekend in Alberta.  I hope that you had a great time and were able to relax and rest :)

For your blog this week, please write one or two perfect paragraphs telling the internet world what you did for the Family Day long weekend.

Post # 3 - Counterfeit Products

In this unit, we have been learning about counterfeit money and counterfeit products like CDs, shoes, designer clothes, and watches. 

Write a perfect paragraph about a counterfeit product of your choice.  You are going to write about what the product is, where you can buy the product, and how you can tell it is fake (3 supporting sentences).  Finish your paragraph (conclusion) by saying if you think it's a good idea to buy this product.  Use vocabulary and grammar from the unit.

In Unit 2 we looked at different opinions about which is better (for kids): to grow up on a farm, or grow up in the city.  

What is your opinion about living or growing up on a farm or in the city?

Write a paragraph or more (about 100-150 words) expressing your opinion.  Remember to include some background information about your own experiences growing up.  Did you grow up on a farm or in the city?  How do you think your experiences growing up helped to shape or form your opinion?
